About the job

About Pear Commerce

Pear Commerce is the retail ecommerce platform that connects CPGs to retailers, converting shoppable media into actionable insights that fuel performance marketing

We are redefining how CPG brands think about ecommerce by providing the infrastructure for the retail ecommerce channel alongside DTC and Amazon. Our software and partnerships illuminate the customer journeys—from impression to sale, providing a closed feedback loop for CPGs' digital marketing efforts and allowing for true conversion-optimized campaigns (for the first time ever).

And if this all sounds like a different language…essentially, we make sure when a brand like Sparkling Ice serves an ad, they’re able to capture real-time insights into how their campaigns are performing - down to the content, platform, geo, and audience - to increase overall marketing effectiveness.

Oh, and we make the industry’s coolest and most shoppable store locators, too.

The Team

At Pear, we hire the best and then take really good care of them. We want you to grow here, and believe hiring and keeping world-class talent is a true competitive advantage. To be clear, our team is not a family. It’s a group of insanely talented and kind people that work tirelessly (but not like on the weekend or evenings) to make Pear better than it was yesterday.

Pear is a venture-backed startup and, to succeed, you must be comfortable with our approach:

• We focus on alignment so we can act autonomously.

• We are builders and do-ers and we move quickly.

• We ask why because we are curious and like to learn.

• We want the ideal team player—humble, hungry, and smart.

• We are not homogenous. We celebrate diversity.

• We work hard but know when to turn work off.

• We are not afraid of messiness, of change, of moving fast.

The Role:

Content Creation

  • Develop high-quality, engaging, and informative long-form content such as blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and press releases.
  • Craft compelling and concise copy for social media captions (primary focus: LinkedIn).
  • Write clear and persuasive email and website content, including landing pages, FAQs, newsletters, etc.

Content Strategy & Positioning

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute a content calendar that aligns with business goals and marketing initiatives.
  • Conduct keyword research and apply SEO best practices to all content to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to generate fresh and relevant content ideas.
  • Help define the specific terms and language the Pear team will utilize across all teams, customer engagements, and platforms. This will require working with key senior stakeholders to understand nuances and details, thinking strategically and creatively on how to position our products - both initially and ongoing, and will inform presentations and much of how we position ourselves.

Brand Voice & Consistency

  • Ensure all content maintains a consistent tone and voice that aligns with Pear Commerce’s brand identity.
  • Proofread and edit content for grammar, punctuation, style, and accuracy.

Research & Analysis

  • Perform thorough research on industry-related topics to create authoritative content.
  • Gain a strong understanding of not only our unique positioning in the marketplace, but also the CPG industry in general.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with Associate Creative Director, sales team members, leadership and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive content presentation.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and projects.

Project & Time Management

  • Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking content drafts, revisions, and approvals in Asana for transparent project management.

  • A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Copywriter. Experience in tech startups or similar fast-paced environments is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing long-form content, social media copy, and website content. A portfolio MUST be included in order to be considered for this position.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience collaborating with a designer or creative lead in crafting messages in a way that’s appropriate for each medium: web copy, paid ads, one-pagers and video.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
